Marte, who led Arizona’s offense, won the NLCS MVP trophy. In seven games, he batted .387 with 12 hits (four doubles), three RBIs, two runs scored and a .987 OPS. He tormented the Philadelphia mound, going 5-for-3 with a home run and a double in Games 3 and 6, respectively.

Marte played in four games in 2017, his first fall ball, and hit .412 with one home run, two RBIs, and a 1.236 OPS. In his first postseason in six years, he continued his hot hitting, batting .358 with two home runs, seven RBIs, and a .986 OPS in 12 games, helping the team reach the WS.

Marte is also on pace to set a postseason record for hits. He added a hit in Game 7 of the NLCS to extend his postseason hitting streak to 16 games. If he gets a hit in the next game, he’ll tie the record. The all-time record is 17 consecutive games with a hit, held by Manny Ramirez, Derek Jeter, and Hank Bauer.
