German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich is looking to revive the fortunes of Kim Min-jae, the only fully fit central defender on the team.
The Bavarians posted a video of Kim’s solid defensive performance against Freiburg two days ago on the club’s social media accounts, along with the words “monster” in the caption.
In the video, Kim is seen fighting off an opponent and clearing the ball off the line to the delight of the home fans.
Kim played flawless defense in the game, helping his team to a 3-0 victory. The performance prompted local media outlets, including Kicker, to include Kim in their best 11 for the seventh round of the Bundesliga.
Since joining Bayern Munich this season, Kim has quickly adapted to the team and has become a regular defender. He returned home for the October A match and is expected to continue to work hard once he returns to his club.
That’s because Matthias De Ligt and Dayot Upamecano are not fully fit to play alongside him in Bayern Munich’s central defense.
Upamecano, who has been one of Bayern Munich’s main defenders alongside Kim Min-jae this season, suffered a left thigh injury against Freiburg on Sept. 9.메이저사이트
Initially, Upamecano was expected to be out for up to three weeks. However, there are now reports in Germany that Upamecano could be out for six weeks.
Like Kim, the French international is a defender who, despite his height, has quick feet that allow him to cover a lot of ground. He has partnered with Kim to concede just six goals in seven games.
Another defender, De Ligt, has struggled with injuries early in the season. After suffering a calf injury at the start of the season, De Lichte also suffered a knee injury that kept him out of many games.
Fortunately, De Ligt is on the road to recovery and has recently started running. The Bavarians expect him to be back in the squad after the A-League season is over.
