It was Neymar’s first goal for Saudi Arabia. Neymar made his debut for Al Riyadh on Nov. 16 in the sixth round of the Saudi League. After coming on as a substitute in the 19th minute of the second half, Neymar assisted Malkun’s fourth goal in the 38th minute for his first Saudi offensive point. Neymar’s performance helped Al Hilal to a 6-1 victory.

It was Neymar’s first ACL start. Overall, the game was dominated by Al Hilal, but no goals were scored. Al Hilal players blatantly used their hands and committed fouls, but the referee didn’t call them.

In the 35th minute, Neymar had a golden opportunity. From a free kick, Neymar’s low shot was saved by the goalkeeper. The teams went into halftime scoreless.

Navbahor took the lead. Six minutes into the second half, Navbahor struck on the counterattack, with Tabatabaje tapping in a ball from the front of the box after Ismailov broke free downfield. Only two players were involved in the counterattack that led to the goal.

Uzbekistan blatantly kicked Neymar in the shins from behind. A furious Neymar argued and the two teams tangled. With a one-goal lead, Navbahor blatantly played “bed soccer” to further infuriate Neymar.

Neymar was frustrated that the ball wasn’t coming to him in time to equalize. Nabbahor blatantly tried to run out the clock. Whenever Neymar got the ball, he would foul him. Neymar had a header on a rebound in the 43rd minute, but it was saved by the keeper.

A whopping 14 minutes of extra time followed, but Neymar remained silent. In the 100th minute of stoppage time, Ali Alboulahi scored a dramatic equalizer.

In the end, even with Neymar, Al Hilal couldn’t win. With the game not going his way, Neymar hung his head.
