‘Martian’ Dominguez shows off $5.1M contract value in first major league at-bat against Verlander at ‘Earth’

New York Yankees’ Jason “The Martian” Dominguez (20) hit a home run in his first at-bat in his big league debut.

Dominguez hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat in the first inning of the New York Yankees’ 2023 Major League Baseball game against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, on Sunday.

Dominguez, a left-handed hitter batting fifth in the lineup, took a 94.3-mile-per-hour two-seam fastball from Houston ace Justin Verlander over the left field fence with two outs in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 lead.

Dominguez’s family was ecstatic about the home run.

Dominguez is rated as the Yankees’ No. 2 prospect and No. 78 overall in MLB.

He started the season at Double-A and was recently promoted to Triple-A, where he batted .419 (13-for-31) with three doubles, one triple, and 10 RBIs in nine games. At Double-A, he posted a .254/0.367/0.414 slash line with 15 home runs, 66 RBI and 37 stolen bases in 109 games.

Dominguez, a native of the Dominican Republic, signed with New York for a franchise-record $5.1 million.

He has been compared to Bo Jackson, Mickey Mantle, and Mike Trout. He has been nicknamed “The Martian” for his supernatural abilities.메이저사이트

With the Yankees virtually eliminated from fall baseball, Dominguez will have plenty of opportunities to get on base.
