KT-Samsung’s 13th game of the season, scheduled to take place at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on the 29th, was ultimately canceled due to pre-game rain.
The field was drenched after heavy rainfall in the morning. The lull in the rain came at around 3 p.m., and the downpour picked up again at around 4 p.m. Kim, who was scheduled to start the day, appeared in the first base dugout during KT Wiz manager Lee Kang-cheol’s briefing.
He checked the amount of rain outside the dugout and turned around with a slightly disappointed expression. Lee Kang-cheol, the head coach, tried to comfort him.
“Min, what can I do? I can’t stop it (the rain) and…. You just have to go out on Sunday (Sept. 3 against Gocheok). You’re an old friend, so you can go out even if it rains.”
He turned away with a thin smile, as if comforted by the coach’s reassurance.
The game was eventually canceled. It was actually a rainout that wasn’t too bad for KT.
A game to be played with a substitute starter who had to withdraw due to a microfracture in his ribs. There’s no guarantee of victory, and depending on the situation, they may have to mobilize their bullpen from the first game of the week.
For Kim, however, the rain was a disappointment.
It had been a whopping 1175 days since his last start against Suwon KIA on June 10, 2020, before joining the mercantile industry. He was washed away by the rain. However, there is some consolation in that he only has to wait five days to get another chance to start. It will be interesting to see the outcome of his first start in 1180 days against Kiwoom in Gochuk on the 3rd of next month.
Choi Ha-neul is also in trouble with Samsung’s long arm.
He was originally scheduled to start against KT in Suwon on the 30th. Buchanan was called up at short notice and was scheduled to start last weekend after a sudden back flare-up delayed his start.
The long-awaited first-team call-up and start.
Choi leads the entire Futures League in ERA (2.49). However, his call-up had been delayed because his velocity wasn’t up to par for the first team.
He hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since May 20, when he gave up seven runs on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings at NC.
His return to the mound after 102 days was washed away by the rain. Choi Chae-heung, who was scheduled to start on the 29th, will start against KT on the 30th. Taylor Widener will start on the 31st.
Unlike KT’s Kim, it’s hard to say what the future holds.메이저놀이터
Samsung manager Park Jin-man said, “I tried to list him as the most stable player among the Futures League starters. We will have to wait depending on the situation, such as the doubleheader next week.”
